Frequently Asked Questions

What are your office hours?

Our hours of operation are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

What if I have an emergency after hours?

One of our internal staff members is always available to answer your call 24/7. You will never go to a call center or answering service.

What services do you provide?

Malone Home Care provides services that include in-home care for seniors, companion care, personal care, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, respite care and skilled nursing.

How quickly can services be provided?

After the initial RN assessment, we typically provide in-home care within 48 hours or less.

How do I start services?

When you contact Malone to request service, we will schedule one of our RNs to perform a free in-home assessment. This in-home assessment allows us to develop an appropriate plan of care for you or your family member. We will review our care plan with you to ensure we can meet your needs.

Are your services limited to seniors?

No. As well as elderly home care, we provide services to patients from newborn to geriatric who may be recuperating from an illness or injury, or those requiring continuing care.

Will my family member always receive care from the same caregiver?

Continuity of care is a priority, however due to shift changes, illness, absence or other issues that may arise, you may have a different caregiver. In private duty home care, it’s important to keep care as consistent as possible, and we will try and let you know in advance whenever possible when you will have a different caregiver.

What if I’m not happy with my caregiver?

We try our best to make an agreeable match between caregivers and clients. If you feel we have not sent someone who is a good match for you or your loved one, please call our office at 502.637.5474. It is our goal that all clients and caregivers be compatible.

What happens if my caregiver is sick, or goes on vacation?

If your caregiver is sick or goes on vacation, we will attempt to send someone with the same skills and abilities to fill in while your regular caregiver is away.

How do you select your caregivers?

Malone Home Care takes our responsibility to care for you or your family member seriously. Our caregivers undergo a stringent hiring process and are interviewed by a clinical nurse manager. Additionally, all caregivers prove their skills through aptitude testing and must pass a national background check and drug screen. We know you trust us to provide the best care, and Malone Home Care hires only competent, caring and reliable caregivers.

Are your caregivers insured and bonded?

We carry professional liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

How do you protect my personal information?

Malone Home Care carefully ensures that all healthcare/medical information remains confidential. Our internal recordkeeping and billing processes are HIPAA compliant.

How long have you been in business?

Malone Home Care has been serving the people of Kentuckiana since 1975.
